NBA: Dwyane Wade suspended for groin shot to Ramon Sessions
Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade has been suspended one game without pay for a kick to the groin of Charlotte Bobcats point guard Ramon Sessions, the league announced Thursday (Friday, PHL time).
The incident occurred at the 8:14 mark of the fourth quarter, with Miami leading by just four points, 83-79. Wade was dribbling up court when Sessions came over to foul Wade. The former Finals MVP responded by "flailing his leg" and connecting with Sessions' groin, which caused Sessions to fall to the ground in pain.
Video of the kick can be viewed on NBA.com.
The Heat would go on to win the game, 105-92, with Wade scoring a game-best 29 points, along with nine rebounds and five assists. Sessions, who came off the bench, tallied 19 points and five dimes.
Miami's next game is slated for Friday (Saturday, PHL time) against the Detroit Pistons. - AMD, GMA News
