Just as the Gilas squad is comprised mostly of cadet team players, the Indonesian national team selection had no one lined-up aged more than 22-years-old, with their youngest aged 18.
With Gary David and KG Canaleta as the sole PBA reinforcements, along with naturalized center Marcus Douthit, the Philippine young guns stormed out to a 25-18 first quarter, and continued to stretch their lead with each passing period.
Garvo Lanete led the way with 23 points on 10-of-14 shooting, including three triples. Canaleta and David combined for 31 markers, while big men Jake Pascual and Greg Slaughter did the damage down low, teaming up to produce 21 points, 14 rebounds, and four blocks.
The Philippines were on fire from beyond the arc, making 11-of-20 triple tries, converting 46-of-80 from the field overall.
The Indonesia side was led by Ramot Kaleb's 19 markers, while Ragil Respati chipped in with 18. The team though was held by Gilas to 29-of-105 shooting, or 27 percent.
