NBA: Kevin Garnett will want out of Boston if they trade Paul Pierce - report
With his name being floated around in trade rumors involving the Los Angeles Clippers, Kevin Garnett has reportedly told SportsOnEarth.com's Shaun Powell that he has two conditions that have to be met, before waiving his no-trade clause.
According to Powell, Garnett will only allow himself to be dealt if fellow Celtic Paul Pierce is traded first, and then only to a team in Los Angeles, where he has an offseason home. SportingNews.com had earlier reported a possible deal that would send Garnett to the Los Angeles Clippers, in exchange for Eric Bledsoe and Caron Butler. Both the Celtics and the Clippers have since shot down that rumor, though talks could resurface as the trade deadline nears. Boston has lost All-Star point guard Rajon Rondo and rookie Jared Sullinger for the season, while the Clippers have gone an extended stretch without Chris Paul. Blake Griffin is also resting a hamstring strain, and is not playing in Monday's (Tuesday, PHL time) game versus the Washington Wizards. Boston though has won their last four games, solidifying their hold on the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference, thanks to a 24-23 record. The LA Clippers on the other hand are 34-15, having lost their last two, to fall to the third seed in the West. The NBA trade deadline is set for February 21 (Feb. 22, PHL time). - Adrian Dy, GMA NewsTold Kevin Garnett will not waive no trade unless Pierce is dealt, and then only to LA. Lives in Malibu.
