NBA: Lakers to pay tribute to owner Jerry Buss with 'JB' jersey patch


The Los Angeles Lakers announced via Twitter that the team would be honoring Dr. Jerry Buss with commemorative 'JB' patches on their jerseys for the rest of the season.

According to the Lakers, the patch "will be placed on the right side of the jerseys above the Lakers logo, opposite the NBA logo." The patches will also be sold on the Lakers Store, with the profits "to benefit the Lakers Youth Foundation." The Lakers, currently 10th in the West with a 25-29 record, 3.5 games behind the eighth-seeded Houston Rockets, begin their post-All Star Weekend NBA schedule on Wednesday (Thursday, PHL time) versus their rivals, the Boston Celtics. - AMD, GMA News
