NBA: Grizzlies add Heat center Dexter Pittman to front court - reports

The Memphis Grizzlies are set to acquire 6'11" center Dexter Pittman and a second-round draft choice from the Miami Heat, Yahoo Sports' Marc J. Spears reported on Twitter, citing league sources.

In exchange, the Heat take back a trade exception from the Grizzlies, as well as the rights to Puerto Rican power forward Ricky Sanchez. Ronald Tillery of the Memphis Commercial-Appeal confirmed the deal as well. Pittman was drafted in 2010 with 32nd overall pick by the Heat and has career averages of 2.8 points and 2.0 rebounds in eight minutes. He had become expendable in South Beach after the team signed veteran Chris Andersen for the remainder of the season. Memphis on the other hand adds another insurance big man to their roster after taking back Ed Davis in the Rudy Gay trade. - AMD, GMA News Here's how the trade looks on the ESPN NBA Trade Machine:
