NBA: Heat bring back 'Birdman' Andersen

The reigning NBA champions Miami Heat will bring back Chris "Birdman" Andersen on a one-year deal, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports reported, Tuesday (Wednesday, PHL time).

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Andersen was the Heat's most productive big man off the bench last season, after being acquired in the middle of the season. He figured in 42 regular season games with averages of 4.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in under 15 minutes per game.

In the postseason, Andersen saw action in 20 games, putting up 6.4 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.1 blocks.

After signing Andersen in January, the Heat went 56-11 en route to the title, 54-8 in games he played. - AMD, GMA News
