NBA: LeBron James arrives in the Philippines on private jet
National Basketball Association superstar and 2013 Finals most valuable player LeBron James arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Monday afternoon.
Security was tight as James landed at around 5 p.m. on a private jet, GMA 7's "24 Oras" reported.
From the NAIA Terminal 3, the Miami Heat forward was quickly whisked off to his hotel in Makati City, where security was also tight.
James is in the country for the “Witness History” tour, and he will make an appearance on Tuesday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. According to tour sponsor Nike, James' visit aims to "inspire the Filipino youth and aspiring basketball athletes to embark on their own pursuit of greatness."
In addition to James, the country will also play host to Houston Rocket James Harden and New Orleans Pelican Eric Gordon late in July, for the NBA 3X Philippines 2013, and Derrick Rose in September. Then in October, the entire Houston Rockets squad takes on the Indiana Pacers in a preseason exhibition game at the MOA Arena. — DVM, GMA News
