The Miami Heat are bringing back forward Michael Beasley, whom they drafted second overall back in 2008, on a minimum deal worth $1 million, the team announced Wednesday (Thursday, PHL time).
Beasley had been bought out earlier this month by the Phoenix Suns after he had been arrested in August for possession of marijuana.
“Michael had the best years of his career with us,” said Heat president Pat Riley in the statement. “We feel that he can help us.”
The Heat had actually traded away Beasley back in 2010 for second-round draft picks, in order to create the salary cap space to sign free agents LeBron James and Chris Bosh.
In two seasons with the Heat, Beasley normed 14.3 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists. He made the playoffs with the team both times as well. - AMD, GMA News
