NBA: Lillards leads sophs, Carter-Williams headlines rooks as Rising Stars lineups revealed

Two of the best young point guards, Philadelphia 76er Michael-Carter Williams and Portland Trail Blazer Damian Lillard, top the rookie and sophomore player pools of the 2014 Rising Stars Challenge, also known as the Rookie-Sophomore game.

The game, which will be played on February 14 (Feb. 15, PHL time) in New Orleans, once again features a mix of nine rookies and nine sophomores being drafted by two to-be-announced General Managers to form teams. This draft will be held on February 6 (Feb. 7, PHL time).

After the rosters for the two squads have been settled, fans will then be able to vote for who should start, with the results announced on game day.

It is the third straight year that this format is being used, as opposed to the traditional all-rookie versus all-sophomore battles from the past.

Aside from Lillard, the other sophomores are Anthony Davis (New Orleans Hornets), Harrison Barnes (Golden State Warriors), Bradley Beal (Washington Wizards), Andre Drummond (Detroit Pistons), Terrence Jones (Houston Rockets), Jared Sullinger (Boston Celtics), Jonas Valanciunas (Toronto Raptors) and Dion Waiters (Cleveland Cavaliers).

In addition to Carter-Williams, the rookies on tap are Steven Adams (Oklahoma City Thunder), Pero Antic (Atlanta Hawks), Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks), Trey Burke (Utah Jazz), Tim Hardaway Jr. (New York Knicks), Victor Oladipo (Orlando Magic), Kelly Olynyk (Boston Celtics) and Mason Plumlee (Brooklyn Nets). - AMD, GMA News
