NBA: Clippers shut down Redick indefinitely

(Updated 10:59am) Los Angeles Clippers guard J.J. Redick is out indefinitely due to a bulging back disk, coach Doc Rivers said Tuesday (Wednesday, PHL time).

ESPN reported that Redick would be sidelined three to five weeks due to back, shoulder and hip problems.

Rivers said before the Clippers' Tuesday night (Wednesday, PHL time) game against the San Antonio Spurs that Redick's return date is uncertain.

"I guess the word would be 'calms down' so he can get his movement," Rivers said. "He'll be out ... three days, two weeks, three weeks, no one knows. There is no set deadline on when he's coming back. He could be back quick or it could take a while. I don't think anyone knows."

In 30 games this season, Redick is averaging 15.7 points and shooting 46 percent from the field.

Redick came to the Clippers during the offseason in a deal with the Milwaukee Bucks. - Reuters
