NBA: Clippers trade away big men Antawn Jamison, Byron Mullens - reports
In a pair of cost-cutting moves, the Los Angeles Clippers sent veteran forward Antawn Jamison to the Atlanta Hawks, according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst, and center Byron Mullens to the Philadelphia 76ers, said ESPN LA's Ramona Shelburne.

The trade of Jamison was initially thought to have be done in order to clear space for another deal. After the NBA trade deadline passed though, no such other deal materialized, despite rumors of a swap with the New York Knicks for injured shooting guard Iman Shumpert.
The 37-year-old Jamison bolsters a banged-up Hawks roster that is without big men Al Horford, Gustavo and Pero Antic. The Hawks send the Clippers back the draft rights to the 2005 59th pick, Cenk Akyol, currently playing in the Turkish basketball league.
Jamison has averaged 3.8 points and 2.5 rebounds in 22 games with the Clippers this season.

On the other hand, Mullens was seen largely as an ineffective back-up to DeAndre Jordan. In 27 games, he normed just over six minutes, along with 2.5 points. The 76ers though need a big man, after dealing away Spencer Hawes to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Clippers creating roster spot for Jason Collins?

Clippers, I'm told, recently worked out Ivan Johnson after his China stint and are looking at a 10-day deal for former Hawk @kevinarnovitz

Erasing both big men from their salary cap brings the Clippers to just roughly $262,000 over the league's luxury tax line. Post-trades though, the team's front court depth is limited to Blake Griffin, Jordan and Ryan Hollins. There are rumors that the team may be set to bring in free agent center Jason Collins, who last year came out as gay, while ESPN's Marc Stein said that the team may offer a 10-day contract to former Atlanta Hawk Ivan Johnson. - AMD, GMA News
