Wall tweeted out that his team has agreed to re-sign free agent center Marcin Gortat, with media reports later confirming that the 6’11” Polish big man agreed to a five-year deal worth $60 million.
I'm proud to say Washington will be my home.

Gortat himself later tweeted, “I’m proud to say Washington will be my home.”
Last season, Gortat normed 13.2 points, 9.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.5 blocks in 81 regular season games with the Wizards. In their postseason run, the 30-year-old posted 13.0 points, 9.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.3 blocks.
Deals cannot be officially signed until July 10.
Not only does bringing Gortat back strengthen the Wizards, it’s also a big blow to defending the Eastern Conference champions Miami Heat, who were eyeing Gortat as an upgrade to their center position.
The Wizards will now turn their attention to another free agent, small forward Trevor Ariza. - AMD, GMA News
