The National University Bulldogs limited the Adamson University Falcons to three points in the first quarter before cruising to a 62-25 win on Wednesday at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The Falcons only had one field goal in the first quarter- a Don Trollano three-pointer - while NU got a surprise lift from J-Jay Alejandro for a 19-3 lead in the opening period.

The Bulldogs blew it wide open in the second, as NU center Alfred Aroga toyed with Adamson counterpart Ivan Villanueva in the paint, before Kyle Neypes and Glen Khobuntin joined Alejandro for a three-point barrage and a 40-11 edge at the half.

The miserable shooting continued for Adamson in the third quarter, as they strung just six points. Meanwhile, Troy Rosario kept NU's offense going for a 56-17 advantage heading into the fourth.

The two teams went through a six-minute scoring drought in the payoff period, before Alex Barrera gave Adamson its 20th point. Kevin Baytan and Ryan Monteclaro were able to string five more before the buzzer for the final score, 59-25. — JST, GMA News
