After badly hurting his knee against San Miguel Beermen on Tuesday, Rain or Shine guard Paul Lee is still unsure whether he will play in his team's next game against Blackwater Elite.

Lee landed badly after colliding with Chris Ross in the first quarter, forcing him to sit on the bench the rest of the game, which saw the Elasto Painters yielding an 87-79 result to the taller Beermen.

"Tinamaan talaga 'yung patella ko sa harapan. Pero wala naman akong narinig na tumunog or something," Lee said.

Lee said he tried to gauge his condition if he can still return to the court, but ultimately decided not to risk his knee on the very first game of the season.

"'Yung kanina kasi sinusubukan ko pero walang lakas e," he said. "Wala ding chance, sa tingin ko mahihirapan lang ako pag nilaro ko pa."

Lee was still able to walk after the game, as the knee was only hyperextended according to team doctors.

"May pain lang siya pag na-i-straight ko. Iniiwasan ko lang ma=straight 'yung legs ko," Lee said.

"Nagpapasalamat pa rin ako na ganun lang nangyari sa akin."

Lee said he will have his knee checked up on Thursday to know if he would healthy enough to play on Friday.

"Titingnan ko bukas, s'yempre hindi mo pa gaanong mararamdaman," he said. "Tingnan namin yung sasabihin ng doctor kung ano mangyari." — JST, GMA News
