PBA: June Mar Fajardo named Best Player of 2015 Philippine Cup

 

San Miguel Beer center June Mar Fajardo won Best Player of the Conference for the second straight Philippine Cup, besting runner-up Alaska forward Calvin Abueva by a mile on Wednesday.

 

The award was announced before tipoff of Game Four of the finals series between the Beermen and the Aces.

 

Fajardo tallied 480 points from dominating the statistics sheets in the conference, leading by almost a 100 points away from Abueva who had 398 points. The Kraken also garnered 515 votes from the media, 71 votes from the players, and 75 PBA votes, for a total of 1,141 points.

 

The Cebu native also won the award last year despite San Miguel failing to enter the finals.

 

Abueva, meanwhile, had 296 votes from the media and 45 votes from fellow players. He lorded the PBA votes with 150, finishing with a total of 889 points.

 

San Miguel stalwarts Arwind Santos and Alex Cabagnot came in third and fifth, respectively, while Barangay Ginebra Greg Slaughter ranked fourth. — Marisse Panaligan/JST, GMA News
