NBA: 76ers claim Thomas Robinson
The Philadelphia 76ers claimed forward Thomas Robinson off of waivers, the team announced Tuesday.
Robinson had been waived on Sunday by the Denver Nuggets, who had acquired Robinson along with guard Will Barton and a lottery-protected 2016 first-round draft pick on Thursday from the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for guard Arron Afflalo and forward Alonzo Gee.
The 6-9, 240-pound pound Robinson was drafted out of Kansas by the Sacramento Kings with the fifth overall pick of the 2012 draft. Robinson was later traded to Houston and then on to Portland during the 2012-13 season. He has appeared in 172 career games (four starts) in three seasons with the Kings, Rockets and Blazers, averaging 4.6 points and 4.4 rebounds.
In a related move, the 76ers released Tim Frazier from his second 10-day contract. Frazier had appeared in six games, including three starts, for the 76ers and averaged 5.7 points. — Reuters
