PBA: SMB's Jeric Fortuna runs away with All-Star obstacle challenge crown

San Miguel Beer point guard Jeric Fortuna reigned as the 2015 Obstacle Challenge champion in the PBA All-Star weekend on Friday at Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

 

The PBA sophomore finished with 32.1 seconds in the final round, besting four-time champion Jonas Villanueva of NLEX with 37.6  seconds. Alaska rookie Chris Banchero was third place with 44.9 seconds.

 

"Naging confident lang ako sa sarili ko, nag-relax lang," said Fortuna, a first-timer in the PBA All-Star. "Nagdasal ako talaga."

 

He also won P60,000 cash prize for bagging the title.

 

Fortuna placed second in the preliminary round with 32 seconds after Banchero, who led with 28 seconds.

 

Other contestants were RR Garcia, Brian Heruela, LA Tenorio, Stanley Pringle, Simon Atkins, Paul Lee, Jayson Castro, and defending champion Mark Barroca. —Marisse Panaligan/JST, GMA News
