The Alaska Aces rolled to an 82-68 win over the Blackwater Elite on Wednesday at Ynares Center in Antipolo to improve their chances of crashing the postseason.

The victory improved the Aces' record in the Commissioner's Cup to 3-5, a half game behind eighth place Kia (4-5). Only the top eight teams will make it to the quarterfinals of the tournament.

Import Damion James masterminded Alaska's dominance with 29 points and 22 rebounds for the Aces, who have struggled after a run to the finals in the Philippine Cup last conference.

"That's not the level of basketball we're playing last conference, but buti na lang nanalo kami. Medyo maganda depensa," said coach Alex Compton.

The loss left Blackwater at the cellar of the standings at 2-7. —JST, GMA News
