Rain or Shine coach Yeng Guiao called on PBA officials to investigate referee Rey Yante for "questionable" calls during Game Two of the best-of-five semifinals series between Rain or Shine and Meralco on Sunday night.
"Sinabihan ko lang si [PBA operations chief] Ricky [Santos] na I think they have to investigate that referee. He did it twice already to me," said the fiery coach, referring to a technical foul that Yante called on him for allegedly using profane language during the game.
Guiao, who is also congressman for the 1st District of Pampanga, denied that he used abusive language. He called Yante a liar for "inventing" the call.
"'Yung mga ganung tawag it's his word against mine eh. The problem there is he does some damage and I cannot defend myself," the coach said.
"Sinungaling siya, sasabihin ko sa mukha niya sinungaling siya," he added.
Guiao also questioned the technical foul called on Raymond Almazan for taunting Josh Davis in the third quarter.
The sophomore big man bumped into the Meralco import after blocking his shot, but the coach said the call should have been a double technical foul as Davis retaliated.

Yante was involved in another controversial call in the fourth, when he awarded possession to the Bolts after Cliff Hodge slightly deflected a layup attempt by Jonathan Uyloan.
The Rain or Shine bench erupted in protests, and they were penalized with a technical foul.
"I don't know what kind of judgment he has. Siya ulit 'yun. I don't know if he has anything personal [against us] or he's really incompetent," Guiao said about the referee.
"Hindi ko alam bakit pa siya nagrereferee dito. He has to be answerable," he added. — JDS, GMA News
