PBA: Talk 'N Text taps Aguilar's ex-college teammate, Jordanian star as Govs' Cup imports
Talk 'N Text is still in the middle of its Commissioner's Cup championship series against Rain or Shine, but the team is already set with their imports next conference.
The Tropang Texters have tapped the services of journeyman Steffphon Pettigrew and Jordanian national team member Sam Daghlas for the Governors' Cup, team manager Jimmy Alapag confirmed to GMA News Online on Friday.
The 25-year-old Pettigrew, who played for several South American leagues after his collegiate career, was Japeth Aguilar's teammate back when the Filipino forward played for Western Kentucky in the United States NCAA.
Daghlas, meanwhile, is one of the best Asian point guards who helped the Jordan national team win the silver medal in the 2011 FIBA Asia and the bronze medal in 2009.
The 35-year-old veteran played for San Diego Mesa College and Midwestern State University in the NCAA. He spent several years playing for Fastlink ball club in Jordan before suiting up for the Jilin Northeast Tigers in the Chinese league in 2011.
The two are expected to beef up the already loaded lineup of Talk 'N Text, with Pettigrew reinforcing the front court crew of Ranidel de Ocampo, Jay Washington, Rob Reyes, Harvey Carey, Kelly Williams, and Danny Seigle.
Daghlas, meanwhile, will be a key figure in the Texters' guard rotation along with Jayson Castro and Kevin Alas. -- JST, GMA News
