PBA: Joseph Yeo on former team Ginebra: 'Wala akong grudges'

Joseph Yeo faced his former team Barangay Ginebra for the first time on Wednesday night, and his Barako Bull squad suffered a 120-98 blowout loss against the franchise that traded him prior to the conference.

The veteran guard finished with 18 points and seven assists against a dismal 6-of-18 shooting and five turnovers, but he admitted that he played with more energy than usual because of the Ginebra crowd.

Yeo, however, said he was not out to prove anything during the game.

"Actually wala. Kausap ko pa nga mga teammates ko before kanina," said the guard, who played 41 minutes on the floor as one of the leaders of the Energy, something he rarely experienced as a Gin King with the squad's loaded back court.

The former La Salle star was traded for fellow guard Sol Mercado two days before the Governors' Cup opened, ending his two-conference stint with the fan favorites.

"Sa akin naman, nothing against this team," Yeo said about Ginebra. "Wala akong grudges kanila coach Al (Chua). Okay ako sa kanila."

With the trade, Yeo suddenly found his fortune changed as Barako climbed to the top four while Ginebra struggled in the bottom half of the standings.

The fate of both teams still hang in the balance, however, and Yeo had nothing but praise for his old teammates after the Energy's lopsided loss.

"I think mas gusto nilang manalo today kasi kung matalo sila out na e," he said. "They played better than us today." - RAF, GMA News
