PBA: Kia franchise to change name to Mahindra Enforcer next season
The PBA's Kia franchise will be carrying a new name for its second season in the league.
Columbian Autocar Corporation, the exclusive distributor of Kia in the Philippines, announced the development on Thursday in a statement.
"For the PBA’s 41st season, our franchise team will suit up as the Mahindra Enforcer to support the entry of Mahindra vehicles in the Philippines," said CAC president Ginia Domingo.
Mahindra is an Indian multinational brand known for its tractors as well as commercial and military vehicles.
"Mahindra Cars is a division of Columbian Autocar Corporation," Domingo added.
Kia made a buzz in its maiden season by appointing Filipino ring icon Manny Pacquiao as its playing coach. The squad failed to make it to the playoffs in each of the first three conferences in the league, but scored several memorable wins in the regular season against champion teams. - JST, GMA News
