SMC big boss Ramon Ang confirms transfer of Tim Cone to Ginebra - report
Tim Cone will be taking over the PBA's most popular franchise.
The league's winningest coach is set to make his move to Barangay Ginebra San Miguel next season, with San Miguel Corporation president Ramon Ang confirming the transfer in an interview on Spin.ph.
San Miguel Corporation owns both Ginebra and the Star Hotshots franchise, Cone's current gig.
Cone spent some 23 years with Alaska, winning a Grand Slam with the squad in 1996, before moving to the Purefoods franchise in 2012. He easily became the winningest coach in the history of the team, leading them to five titles in four seasons, including a Grand Slam in 2014.
He is expected to bring his vaunted triangle offense to Ginebra, which has not tasted a championship since 2008. —JST, GMA News
