Tony Parker becomes top scorer in Eurobasket history
France basketball superstar Tony Parker became the all-time points scorer in European Championship history when he scored a two pointer against Poland on Monday to move on to 1,032 points.
The 33-year-old — Belgium-born but raised in France — had drawn level with Greek legend Nikos Galis on Sunday when he scored 11 points in the game with Bosnia-Hercegovina.
Parker took his overall tally on to 1,046 points by the end of the game, as he recorded a total of 16 points in the 69-66 victory over Poland.
Parker, who has won the NBA title on four occasions with the San Antonio Spurs, could have quite a battle to retain his record during the championships as another NBA star German Dirk Nowitzki has registered 1,013 points. —Agence France-Presse
