NBA: Kobe leads Lakers against Maccabi Haifa



LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Lakers shot splendidly in their opening game back at the Staples Center, to cruise past visiting team Maccabi Haifa, 126-83, on Sunday (Monday, PHL time).

Kobe Bryant scored 21 points with four triples in just 19 minutes of play to lead his squad. Starters Julius Randle and Jordan Clarkson chipped in 14 and 10, respectively, while Roy Hibbert had eight points with 16 rebounds and five assists.

The Lakers's bench was also productive, with Nick Young, Ryan Kelly, Lou Williams,and Tarik Black combining for 56 points.

The Lakers torched the visitors in the first two quarters, tallying 63 points while allowing just just 40. Bryant was efficient in his first time back from injury, scoring 13 points in 13 minutes by halftime. Starters Jordan Clarkson and Julius Randle also had eight each, while Roy Hibbert had 11 rebounds with six points and three assists in 15 minutes of first half play.

Los Angeles continued with their 30-point quarters in the third, with a Nick Young buzzer beater trey capping off a 13-0 blast to end the period, 96-58. In the final frame, the home team went to Tarik Black and Ryan Kelly to put Maccabi Haifa away. - GMA News
