NBA: Injury-ravaged Pelicans sign Fredette

The injury-ravaged New Orleans Pelicans signed guard Jimmer Fredette.

The Pelicans received an injury hardship exception from the NBA to add a 16th player to their roster. According to reports, Fredette's contract is not guaranteed.

Fredette, the 10th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings, has bounced around the league to four teams in four seasons. He was waived Oct. 21 by the San Antonio Spurs. In 229 career NBA games, Fredette has averaged 6.1 points. - Reuters
