Chito Salud quits as CEO of PBA
Just months into his new job as president and chief executive officer of the PBA, Chito Salud is quitting the post effective at the end of the year.
Salud, who moved into the new post this season after five years as commissioner of the league, made the announcement on Tuesday.
"The organizational structure of PBA as we have envisaged is already in place. The handover to the new Commissioner has been smoothly executed," Salud said in a statement.
"And the Board under Chairman (Robert) Non's leadership continues to be as it is -- a source of strength, stability and continuity as the PBA charts its way forward.
"It is for these reasons that I believe the time is right for me to move on, confident as I am that I have already made my modest contributions to the critical transition into this current PBA season."
Salud was replaced as commissioner by Chito Narvasa this season. The post as president/CEO was created last season with the idea of having Salud handle matters pertaining to off-court ventures. —JST, GMA News
