Arwind on getting posterized by rookies: 'Kahit sabihin mong dakdakan ako ni Monfort, so what?'

Arwind Santos found himself in the wrong end of a dunk for the second time in the conference on Saturday night.

He was caught off-guard by high-flying Meralco rookie Chris Newsome weeks ago, but this time it was Talk 'N Text rookie Moala Tautuaa who threw down a monster jam right above his head in the fourth quarter.

The San Miguel Beer forward appeared to take it all in stride, saying that he does not mind getting dunked on as long as they win the game.

"Hindi naman ako 'yung taong hindi puwedeng dakdakan ng kahit na sino," he said. "Kahit sabihin mong dakdakan ako ni [Emman] Monfort, so what di ba? Walang masama dun."

Santos seemed okay with making fun of himself after mentioning one of the shortest players in the league, but the former MVP did go on to explain the play to reporters.

"'Yung challenge ko na 'yun, hilaw 'yun e. Hindi siya intention to block talaga," he said. "Kasi kung ba-block-in ko 'yun, hindi makaka-dunk sa akin 'yun."

In the end, though, Santos still got the last laugh as he was named the Player of the Game after finishing with 30 points and 12 rebounds.

San Miguel cruised to a dominant 97-84 rout of the Tropang Texters to extend their winning streak to seven games. - RAF, GMA News
