Paul Lee wore the Rain or Shine uniform for the first time in almost two months as the Elasto Painters stunned San Miguel Beer with a 108-105 victory on Friday night.

It was the first time he saw action since the semifinals of the Philippine Cup last conference, which saw him re-injure the knee he hurt in an overseas pre-season game.

Lee only scored a single three-pointer and dished two assists in 15 minutes on the floor, but he is confident that his return is not premature this time around.

"Okay naman na ako. Clear na 'yung isip ko na wala akong nararamdaman after the game," he said.

"Doon ko lagi nararamdaman y'ung masakit sa akin, pagkatapos ng game. Ngayon, all good. Maganda 'yung pahinga ko."

Head coach Yeng Guiao, however, said that his star guard is still struggling as Lee went 1-of-9 from the field and seemed a step slow on defense.

"He does not have the fitness yet. But he's very decent," said the coach. "We did not expect as much from him. But we just wanted him to be broken in."

Lee is positive that he will be able to get back in playing condition in the coming games, especially as Rain or Shine will have a few days to prepare for their next game against Mahindra on Wednesday.

"Ngayon, medyo nakukuha ko 'yung full-speed na takbo ko at mabilis 'yung pag-recover. Medyo 'yung timing lang, kailangan pa ng practice," he said. — APG, GMA News
