Terrence Romeo picks Kyrie Irving over Steph Curry for best handles in NBA

Terrence Romeo took over the PBA twitter account on Friday and interacted with fans, fulfilling requests and answering questions before suiting up for the game between GlobalPort Batang Pier and the NLEX Road Warriors.

The 24-year-old guard mostly dished out greetings, but he had a curious answer when a fan asked him who has the better handles between Kyrie Irving and Stephen Curry.

Romeo, also known for his killer crossovers, picked the Cleveland Cavaliers point guard over the reigning NBA Most Valuable Player.

"Magaling talaga 'yung handles ni Kyrie simula pa nung nakita ko siya nung rookie year niya sa NBA. Talagang sumobrang hanga na ako sa handles niya," he said.

In fact, Romeo said he wore jersey number two in the William Jones Cup for Gilas Pilipinas last year in honor of the young Irving, who wears the same number in the NBA.

He wore number 11 in the FIBA Asia Championship, but he said he plans to wear number two again if he makes the final cut in the Gilas lineup for the FIBA Olympic Qualying Tournament in July.

"Kung papalarin ako ulit sa FIBA, number two na ako," he said. "Sana makuha ko ulit, number two."

But Romeo was also quick to add that he also looks up plenty to Curry, the leader of the defending champions Golden State Warriors.

"Sa shooting syempre iba pa rin 'yung Steph. Ang ini-idolize ko sa shooting talaga, si Steph," he said.

Romeo actually channeled his inner Steph Curry against NLEX, hitting eight three-pointers in GlobalPort's 110-105 loss. — APG, GMA News
