Calvin Abueva had to be taken out after hurting his left leg in the dying seconds of Alaska's 97-94 victory against Meralco in Game One of the best-of-five semifinals series of the PBA Commissioner's Cup on Monday night.

With five seconds left on the clock, The Beast went down clutching his left thigh after slipping on a wet part of the floor, where Meralco forward Jared Dillinger fell just a second earlier.

"Dulas lang ako kay Jared, dahil [nabasa] niya 'yung floor, then sumunod ako, sakto lang," said Abueva, who finished with 15 points, six rebounds, and three assists for the Aces.

The hustling Alaska forward usually shrugs pain off like nothing, but he was subbed out of the game and walked back to the bench with a slight limp.

He said, however, that he did not sustain any serious injuries on his leg.

"Na-stretch lang. Pero okay naman," Abueva said.

He added that he will be back to practice as usual on Tuesday to prepare for Game Two against the Bolts on Wednesday. — APG, GMA News
