Mahindra assistant coach Chito Victolero resigns, cites 'health reasons'
Mahindra Enforcers' first assistant coach Chito Victolero has resigned from his post due to health reasons, team manager Eric Pineda said in a text message on Friday.
The former Sta. Lucia guard served as the top deputy for playing coach Manny Pacquiao and usually called the shots for the Enforcers during games.
Victolero led the team to 15 wins in four conferences during his tenure, but he has now left his post weeks after failing to take Mahindra to the playoffs in the Commissioner's Cup.
"He resigned for health reasons and nothing else," Pineda said.
"Chris Gavina is now the first assistant coach."
The Fil-Am Gavina has been serving as the team's skills and conditioning coach prior to his promotion.
He is the third assistant coach for the franchise, which hired Glenn Capacio before Victolero's stint. — APG, GMA News
