Terrence Romeo defends 3-point shootout title in All-Star break

Terrence Romeo is still the king of long range bombs in the PBA All-Star weekend after defending his three-point shootout title on Friday at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.

The Globalport guard finished the first round with 24 points behind KG Canaleta's 25, but his 20 points in the final round was enough to put him on top once again.

Alaska's RJ Jazul, who had a 22-point performance in the first round, tied for 17 points with Mahindra's Canaleta in the final.

Romeo was awarded P30,000 cash prize for winning the event.

Star's James Yap, whom Romeo beat in last year's edition in Palawan, narrowly missed the final with 19 points in the first round.

In the Obstacle Challenge, meanwhile, defending champion Jeric Fortuna of GlobalPort bowed out in the first round against Carlo Lastimosa.

Rain or Shine's Maverick Ahanmisi bagged the crown after clearing the course in 33 seconds. — RSJ, GMA News
