The Adamson Falcons sent a strong message to the rest of the UAAP Season 79 field after beating the NU Bulldogs, 64-51, on Wednesday at Mall of Asia Arena.

The win propelled Adamson to the second spot in the standings at 3-1 just behind unbeaten La Salle. NU, meanwhile, slid to the middle of the pack at 2-2 to tie FEU, UST, and Ateneo.

Papi Sarr led Adamson with 13 points and 17 rebounds, while JD Tungcab had 11. Sean Maganti and Jerrick Ahanmisi also added nine and eight points, respectively.

Up by just two points heading into the final period, 42-40, the Falcons leaned on Ahanmisi, Maganti, and Kristian Bernardo for 20 of the team's 22 points. Adamson also limited NU to just 11 points in the fourth quarter, six of which came from Alfred Aroga.

Aroga finished the game with 17 points and 13 rebounds as the only Bulldog in double figures. Matt Salem had nine points, while Med Salim chipped in seven. —JST, GMA News
