Late rally has Alaska winning over GlobalPort

The Alaska Aces relied on a 33-19 blast in the fourth period to defeat the GlobalPort Batang Pier, 95-84, on Wednesday at the MOA Arena in Pasay City.

Down three at the end of the third quarter after an RJ Jazul triple with 65-62. The Aces found themselves down by as many as nine points midway through the fourth, 78-69.

The Aces then went on an 11-0 run to grab the lead at the 3:37 mark with 80-78. And with a 7-0 run heading into the final period the Aces gained an 87-79 advantage, enough to come away with the victory.

Calvin Abueva led Alaska with 22 points, while Jayvee Casio chipped in 15 markers. Vic Manuel and RJ Jazul led the bench with 10 and nine points, respectively.

Stanley Pringle and Terrence Romeo got little help from the rest of the GlobalPort squad. Pringle scored 23 points, while Romeo came off the bench with 26. JR Quinahan added 15, while Anthony Semerad tallied eight. The rest of the team combined for just 12 markers. — BAP, GMA News
