TNT fights back, evens series


TNT KaTropa ended the San Miguel Beermen's 11-game winning streak this conference, earning an 87-85 victory on Friday at the MOA Arena in Pasay City.
 
Charities from June Mar Fajardo put San Miguel ahead 82-80 in the final 2:36 of the game, before a 7-0 run capped by a Ranidel De Ocampo triple shoved TNT ahead by five with 67 ticks to go. Alex Cabagnot then responded with a trip to the line where he made three free-throws, but neither team scored in the dying seconds to give the Texters the victory.
 
With the win, TNT evened their best of seven semifinals series against the Beermen at 1-1.
 
The KaTropa gathered points from all around, with Troy Rosario pacing his squad with 14 points off the bench. Ranidel De Ocampo finished the game with 13 markers, while Mo Tautuaa had 12 points. Roger Pogoy tallied 11 in a starting role, wile Jayson Castro and Larry Fonacier scored 10 points each.
 
June Mar Fajardo led San Miguel with 25 points and 11 boards, while Alex Cabagnot had 24 points with five boards and three assists. No other San Miguel player scored in double figures, while Arwind Santos hitting nine points with 12 boards, while Gabby Espinas and Keith Agovida adding eight and seven points, respectively. — DVM, GMA News
