Tolentino tows FEU to victory over NU

The Far Eastern University Tamaraws benefitted from the National University Bulldogs’ sluggish start to carve out a 90-83 victory in UAAP Season 80 men's basketball action on Wednesday.
Arvin Tolentino paced FEU with 23 points, while Axel Inigo finished the game with 12. Barkley Ebona, meanwhile, scored 10.
The Tams limited the Bulldogs to just 15 points in the opening period, before scoring 22 off eight different players. Arvin Tolentino then took over for FEU, scoring 11 of his team’s 26 second quarter points to give the Morayta-based squad a 48-41 advantage.
The Bulldogs tried to chip away at the lead in the third, as Jayjay Alejandro, Matt Aquino, and Dave You combined for 17 of their team’s 27 markers, but Tolentino teamed up with Inigo at the other end for 18 of FEU’s 28 points.
In the final 10 minutes, it was virtually all Alejandro for NU, as the veteran tallied 11 of his team’s 15, but Jasper Parker and Ken Tuffin conspired for 10 of FEU’s 14 to keep NU at bay.
Alejandro paced NU with 23 points, while Aquino scored 13. No other Bulldogs scored in double figures. —JST, GMA News
