Maroons hero Paul Desiderio in tears in final 'UP Naming Mahal'
Paul Desiderio had a season for the books in his final year for the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons.
The team captain led his squad to a Cinderella run to the UAAP finals, serving as the heart and soul as the squad made it to the championship round for the first time in 32 years.
After bowing to Ateneo in Game Two of their title series on Wednesday, Desiderio joined fellow seniors Gelo Vito, Jarrell Lim, JJ Española, and Diego Dario in singing "UP Naming Mahal" as part of the men's basketball team one final time.
Desiderio, who coined the "Atin 'To" mantra that has been the rallying cry for the team and its fans, couldn't help but break down during the singing of the hymn.
