Bulls to drop Jabari Parker from rotation - report
The Chicago Bulls intend to drop forward Jabari Parker from their regular rotation, according to a report from ESPN on Thursday.
Parker dressed for the Bulls against the Orlando Magic at Mexico City on Thursday night with Chandler Hutchison (illness) sidelined. Parker played a season-low 19 minutes against the Sacramento Kings on Monday.
He started for the Bulls throughout the month of November but returned to the bench when Lauri Markkanen returned from an elbow injury earlier this month. Around the same time, former coach Fred Hoiberg was fired and replaced by Jim Boylen.
Parker, 23, joined his hometown Bulls on a two-year, $40 million deal over the offseason. The second year on his deal is a team option. The Bulls and Parker's representatives have yet to discuss a buyout, according to the report.
Parker is averaging 15.8 points and 7.1 rebounds in 28 games (17 starts) this season. The former No. 2 overall pick missed a majority of the past two seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks due to injury. — Field Level Media/Reuters
