Sportsmanship reflected in Kobe’s last tweet

Sportsmanship was the name of the game for hardcourt legend Kobe Bryant, as witnessed by the Twitterverse hours before he died in a helicopter crash.

"Continuing to move the game forward @KingJames. Much respect my brother," read Kobe's last tweet.

It was short yet meaningful as the Black Mamba was congratulating LeBron James who just edged him out of the third place on the NBA's all-time scoring list.

LeBron recently achieved 33,655 career points and became the new third highest scorer in NBA history, placing the 18-time NBA all-star at fourth place with 33,643 career points.

Kobe retired in 2016 after spending his 20-year basketball career with the Los Angeles Lakers.

He died in a helicopter crash near Los Angeles on Sunday (LA time) along with his 13-year-old daughter and seven others on board.

His passing will surely leave a huge void in the hearts of his 15.1 million followers on Twitter alone. — Dona Magsino/RSJ, GMA News
