To pay tribute to Kobe Bryant, NBA teams take 24-second and 8-second violations
NBA teams took turns in running out the shot clock during their respective games in honor of Kobe Bryant, who died in a helicopter crash in California on Monday (Manila time).
To start their Sunday night games (US time), playing teams took a 24-second and 8-second violation during the first possession of the match as tribute to the Black Mamba, who donned the jersey numbers 24 and 8 for the Los Angeles Lakers.
In the San Antonio versus Toronto match, each team dribbled out the 24-second shot clock for the 41-year-old legend.
Meanwhile, in the Atlanta versus Washington matchup, both squads took an 8-second and 24-second violation.
The crowds recognized what it meant and started shouting Kobe's name.
Here are some of the videos of teams who paid their respects to the Greatest of All Time (GOAT).
