Gilas Pilipinas goes young vs Indonesia in FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers

Gilas Pilipinas is going young in the first window of the FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers against Indonesia on Sunday.

Kiefer Ravena will spearhead the 12-man lineup, which includes CJ Perez, Poy Erram, Abu Tratter, Justin Chua, Roger Pogoy, Dwight Ramos, Troy Rosario, Isaac Go, Thirdy Ravena, Juan Gomez de Liaño, and Matt Nieto.

Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas released the list on Wednesday.

The national team will be steered by interim coach by Mark Dickel, TNT Katropa's consultant in the PBA.

"It will be a long journey to the FIBA Asia Cup but we're confident that our team will once again show the region what Philippine basketball is all about," SBP president Al Panlilio said in a statement.

Gilas was supposed to play on Thursday against Thailand, but the game was postponed due to concerns over the coronavirus. —MGP, GMA News
