Former Falcon Papi Sarr apologizes for altercation with Adamson official

Former Adamson University cager Papi Sarr on Thursday took to social media to apologize for his actions after a school official dismissed him from the team.

On his Facebook account, Sarr expressed regret for his behavior, saying it was "never really his intention to be disrespectful."

"Dear Klasmayts, friends, my team mates, coaches, priests and the Adamson community, first, i would like to apologize to you all for this unfortunate event. Those of you who knows me personally know that it was not intentional," Sarr wrote.

"I love this school and would not have spent 7 years of my life here no matter what happened before," he said. "It is never my intention to be disrespectful to the priests, to my team and to you all."

According to a Manila Police District report earlier, the 24-year-old Cameroonian center allegedly threatened a university official inside Adamson's Saint Vincent Gym after he was given a dismissal letter.

Sarr crumpled the letter and slapped it onto the official's chest.

"Raising my voice due to emotion and throwing the letter that I received this morning was unsportsmanlike," he said.

"Again, I'm sorry for the hurt my actions have caused you," Sarr added.

After the altercation, Sarr was arrested by police and was charged for unjust vexation and light threat.

His brother, Abdul, who reportedly intervened and attempted to punch the official, is still at large. — BAP, GMA News
