Thirdy Ravena excited to play in B.League: 'Japan could actually feel like home'

Thirdy Ravena is looking forward to starting a new chapter of his life in the Land of the Rising Sun.

During his introductory press conference with the San-En Neophoenix, his new team in the Japan Professional Basketball League (B.League), Thirdy said he is a fan of Japanese culture.

The Ateneo product said he is excited to "immerse [himself] in the culture and the people."

"I love Japanese people. They're very welcoming," he said. "I think Japan could actually feel like home when I'm there."

Thirdy is also eager to learn more about country's culture, from history to fashion to food.

"I can't wait to see what it's like to live in Japan because I heard a lot of great things," he said.

Thirdy, the son of former PBA player and now TNT KaTropa head coach Bong Ravena and brother of NLEX star Kiefer, was the first Asian import who signed in the B.League this season.

He was part of Ateneo's three straight championships from 2017 to 2019 and was also named as Finals MVP for  those seasons. —MGP, GMA News
