Aldin Ayo to seek reconsideration vs indefinite ban in UAAP
Former University of Santo Tomas head coach Aldin Ayo will appeal the UAAP's decision to hand him an indefinite ban from all its activities following probe into the "Sorsogon bubble."
In a statement released on Friday, Ayo said he feels that the sanction is "not appropriate under the circumstances" and that he will seek a reconsideration.
"I have realized that no matter how driven and well-meaning you want to be, things just mess up," he said. "It gets you humbled, humiliated even, and we learn to painfully accept to just let things be."
"However, to quote a Scottish proverb: 'I am wounded, but not slain. So, lay me low to bleed awhile, and then I shall rise...' to coach again!" he added.

The UST men's basketball team drew flak after holding a training camp in Ayo's home province amid the community quarantine.
The coach tendered his resignation as government agencies in charge of overseeing sports activities during the pandemic looked into the case.
He apologized to "those who have been adversely affected" by the team's activity and for exposing the university to "much condemnation."
Commission on Higher Education Popoy de Vera said a show cause order will be issued to UST and National University, which faces similar allegations, to explain why they should not be sanctioned.
De Vera said it's up to the Department of Justice (DOJ), the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), and the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) to determine if the two universities violated safety and health protocols. —Justin Kenneth Carandang/MGP, GMA News
