Barack Obama sits with Shaq, other basketball legends on virtual stands of NBA finals Game 1

Former United States President Barack Obama is one of the virtual fans who attended Game 1 of the NBA Finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Miami Heat on Thursday (Manila time).

According to the league, Obama joined the virtual fan section as part of the league's campaign on voter education.

Together with Obama are NBA champions such as Shaquille O' Neal, Kareem Abdul-Jabar, Bill Walton, Paul Pierce, Manu Ginobili, Ray Allen, and Pau Gasol.

The former US president also talked to 40 first-time poll workers about ways to ensure that American citizens can vote safely. The US elections will be held on November 3.
