Rain or Shine survives NorthPort comeback, extends win streak to three
The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters extended their winning streak to three after a 70-68 victory over the NorthPort Batang Pier in the PBA Philippine Cup elimination round on Sunday.
With just 3 seconds left in the fourth period, a Christian Standhardinger shot tied the game at 68 to cap their comeback. Rey Nambatac sank two from the line on a Paolo Taha foul to grab their third win in the PBA bubble.
The Batang Pier, despite their good start which ended 38-32 at halftime, were limited to just two points in the entire third period against the E-Painters' 14 markers. Only Sean Anthony's shot at the 6:20 mark was added for the said frame, giving Rain or Shine a 46-40 lead at the end of the third quarter.
Rookie Adrian Wong led Rain or Shine with 15 markers.
Sean Anthony, Christian Standhardinger, and Garvo Lanete chipped in 13 points apiece in NorthPort's third loss.
Rain or Shine now holds a 3-0 record, while NorthPort slides to 0-3.
The Elasto Painters will go against Alaska on Thursday, while NorthPort will try to bounce back against NLEX on Wednesday. — LA, GMA News
