RJ Jazul sets career-high as Phoenix takes down San Miguel Beer
RJ Jazul set a new career-high 33 points as Phoenix Super LPG took down defending champion San Miguel Beer, 110-103, in the elimination round of the PBA Philippine Cup on Thursday.
Jazul hit 9-of-16 from beyond the arc, including two clutch triples which maintained the cushion for the Fuelmasters until the buzzer.
Jason Perkins added 27 points and 10 rebounds for the Phoenix, while Matthew Wright tossed in 10 points and 10 assists. Calvin Abueva had 10 rebounds, seven points, and five assists.
Moala Tautuaa led Beermen with 21 points, while Alex Cabagnot and Marcio Lassiter had 20 points apiece. Arwind Santos chipped in 11 points and eight rebounds.
With the win, Phoenix improved to a 6-3 card for solo third place with two games remaining in its schedule. The Fuelmasters will face Blackwater on Monday and Rain or Shine on Wednesday.
SMB, meanwhile, is at 5-3 and will play NLEX, Barangay Ginebra, and NorthPort.
