Jordan Clarkson to shoot for Sixth Man of the Year award in upcoming NBA season
Going into his seventh year in the National Basketball Association (NBA), Jordan Clarkson has a goal he wants to achieve in the upcoming season: the Sixth Man of the Year award.
Clarkson, who was recently signed by the Utah Jazz, said being traded before to different teams may be the reason why he was not in the radar for the said award.
"One goal [or] achievement that I do want under my belt is to win the Sixth Man of the Year award. I feel like I'm kind of out of the conversation a lot because I've been traded to multiple places now," the Filipino-American guard said in an interview with the media Saturday morning (Manila time).
However, Clarkson thinks his stint with the Jazz will be a good opportunity for him to show his talent.
"Just having that opportunity to come out there and be with this organization, just having that opportunity is gonna be great for me. I'm gonna come out there and perform and help the team get wins," he added.
In his 41 games with Utah, Clarkson posted an average of 15.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists.
The Jazz guard knows that a good performance will not only bring wins for the team, but will also put him up in the radar for the award that he wants.
"If we're winning and I'm performing well, that would put the spotlight on me, so I definitely want to have that under my belt and I'm definitely going to shoot for that."
