Standhardinger thanks NorthPort for 'taking a chance' on him

Christian Standhardinger showed his gratitude to NorthPort after the announcement of his trade to Barangay Ginebra.

The Fil-German big man was shipped to the Gin Kings in exchange for Greg Slaughter, a blockbuster deal announced by the PBA on Friday.

In an Instagram post, Standhardinger thanked the Batang Pier "for taking a chance" on him.

"I will never forget our 5-game winning streak, 4 of which are do or die games! Also, when we upset the number one ranked team and reach the semifinals in our first conference together," he said.

"It was an honor to fight alongside my teammates/friends who are not only amazing players but also great people," he added.

Prior to his NorthPort stint, Standhardinger was with San Miguel Beer. He was traded to the Batang Pier in lieu of Mo Tautuaa in 2019.

He averaged 19.9 points, 12 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game in the Philippine Cup last year. —Justin Kenneth Carandang/MGP, GMA News
